Nastar is a popular cookie for Indonesian holiday celebrations such as Eid al Fitr. The name Nastar is an abbreviation for "Nanas Tart", and it derives from the Dutch influence on Indonesian cookies.
 
Most nastar are made in a round shape with a diameter of about 2 cm and are filled with pineapple jam inside the cookies.
